Township Committeeman Henry Goldhor will resign at the final meeting of the year Friday night after completing the second year of his second term. Mayor William Gural said a successor may be named at Friday's conference or at the New Year reorganization. Goldhor, also engaged in law practice, cited time for personal affairs and the death of his partner Samuel B. Friedman as factors, and noted continued community involvement with the Hillside Ambulance Squad and Hillside Community Orchestra.

Bomb threat prompts evacuation at Bristol-Myers plant
A bomb call at the Bristol-Myers Company plant near Lohaverile led to evacuation of staff including supervisor Charles Nickitson and switchboard operator Me. Police and emergency crews, led by Deputy Chief Ernest Voelk and Deputy Chief Willan Hamilton, investigated while 250 workers remained on a winter schedule. No explosive was found and employees returned after clearance.

Funeral services were held for Michael A. Totterweich 61 tool designer at American Can Co. of 284 Hollywood Ave Newark who died Saturday at home. Born in Tolna Hungary he came to Newark in 1914 and moved to Hillside in 1924. He was an elder of Hillside Presbyterian Church and past president of Hillside Hungarian Workmen's Home. Survived by wife Coma W. Tolterweich daughter Mrs David Richards Arlington VA son George M. Clifton three grandchildren and several brothers and sisters in Hungary. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery with Masonic rites by Hillside Lodge 241 F and AM.

A combined Christmas party was held Thursday in the playroom of the AP Morris School on Corave. Girl Scout Troop 104 and Brownie Troop 49 joined in the celebration exchanging gifts and preparing surprises for parents.
