Also reported a fracture incident for Selma Cohen, 43, of 1440 Hiawatha Avenue, after a fall near her home. She was treated by Dr. Joseph Peyser and moved to Newark Beth Israel Hospital. Mrs Irene Starke of 969 Revere drive attempted to move a basement gas range when the gas pipe broke and burst into flames Wednesday afternoon causing only slight damage. Police said Engine Companies 1 and 2 and Truck Co 2 responded to the incident.

Tax Office Resumes After Holiday Break

Arthur H. Link, 64, died December 17 at his home after a long illness. Funeral services were Thursday night at the Manger Home for Funerals in Irvington. He was a German native who came to the United States in 1925 and lived in Hillside 29 years. Survivors include his wife Emma Bellow Link a son Henry of Mount Dora Florida a sister Mrs Emilie Jung of Orham Park a stepmother Mrs Emilie Link two brothers Richard and Herman and another sister in Germany and one grandson.

Superior Court Judge Walter Hetfield approved a 12500 settlement for Joseph Stralkus a 14 year old from 195 Boston avenue and his uncle guardian Edward Brazinski after a August 20 1956 bicycle truck collision on Liberty avenue.
