More than 1 000 children waited for Santa Claus in a donkey drawn chariot at a Christmas party by the Italian American Association and its auxiliary on Liberty Avenue Hillside. Santa handed out toys and goodies as police escorted the celebration. Strike Charges Are Withdrawn After amicable settlement at Dillon-Beck plant
Magistrate Sidney Birnbaum ordered withdrawal of charges and counter charges from the Dillon-Beck Manufacturing Company strike on Central avenue. He cited harmonious labor relations, an amicable settlement, and no injuries as reasons. Local police dropped assault charges against strikers Frank Jotz and Frank Dunn, and charges against non striker James Thompson were withdrawn. Stray Dog Bites Three Children at Harden-Locker School
Principal William Vreeland reported that a stray dog bitten three first graders at Harden-Locker School Monday morning. Pat Ringwood, six and a half, was first to report. Donald Greller, six, and Scott Wilson, six, were later bite victims near the school. The injured received treatment from Dr. William F. Wacker and were returned to class. Officers investigated but found no dog and notified the Board of Health and the Humane Society.
