Goof Ball Case Heads To Jury In Juvenile Drug Probing
Joseph P. Menza 19 of 1412 Main Ave was held for the Grand Jury on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. His bail was set at 1000 dollars after his attorney waived a preliminary hearing. The complaint cites a Hillside girl 15 who traveled with Menza to New York to obtain barbiturate capsules. The girl was placed on probation by Juvenile Court Judge Richard R. O Connor in Elizabeth following her alleged role in selling capsules to a near-fatal overdose victim.

$148,000 Judgment In Loan Co Theft
Essex County Superior Court Judge Ward Herbert last week ordered $148,000 against Henry Majewski of Belleville for embezzlement from Hillside Loan Co aided by Theresa Barrasso also of Belleville. Barrasso testified she gave Majewski the funds over years while working as a clerk. Funds financed a Belleville house, an $11,000 boat, an expensive car, mutual funds, and entries to races and night clubs. Barrasso was later sentenced to an indefinite term in Clinton Reformatory for Women.

Youths Held After Car Carrying Weapons Found
Police responding to a blocked driveway arrested two Scranton youths from Pennsylvania for concealed weapons in a vehicle. Martin J. Flynn, 20, and a 16 year old, both from Scranton, faced charges with the juvenile also charged for driving without a license. A loaded .22 rifle, a blank revolver with ammo, a zip gun, and an ice pick were found in the car. Flynn to be arraigned tonight. the juvenile to be turned over to juvenile authorities.
