Creativity In Israel Impresses Birnbaums on Tour
Mayor Sidney Birnbaum his wife Zenna and daughters Joanne and Laurie returned from a month in Israel with a three day Rome visit. They joined an Educational Pageimage tour focusing on Jewish education in the Diaspora, visiting Jerusalem Haifa and Tel Aviv and examining Hadassah facilities and bond funded projects. The family also toured Kibbutzim historical sites and border areas, planted trees in the Forest of the Sanhedrin, and met several municipal and national leaders.

Democrats Open Campaign Headquarters in Hillside
Police Commissioner John A. Desch Special Township Attorney Robert Diamond and John C Pozar Democratic candidates for Township Committee and Tax Collector announced that Democratic Campaign Headquarters will open Thursday September 6 1962 at 830 PM. Located at 1277 Liberty Ave opposite Princeton Ave the HQ will be open every weeknight until election day November 6 with candidates for county state and federal posts present and refreshments served.

PAL Registration To Begin September 17
Detective Alois J. Stier PAL director announced the PAL Building at 274 Hillside Ave will close until Tuesday to resurface floors. New member and renewal registrations start Sept 17, cost $34 yearly. Children ages 8 to 13 may join with parents, with programs 3 to 6 pm weekdays and after 6 pm for teens 14 and up. Activities include fitness, boxing, weight lifting, arts and crafts, plus a television room and planned dances and trips. Volunteers sought.
