The Franklin State Bank in Franklin Township New Jersey merges with Farmers and Merchants National Bank of Monmouth County. The merger becomes effective after August 20 with all officers and employees retained. Farmers and Merchants will operate as the Monmouth County division of Franklin State Bank.
VW dealers report stock unaffected by the 10 percent import tax on cars. At Hagin & Koplin Newark NJ the 370 Elizabeth Ave facility says current VW inventory and units arriving from Port Newark may be sold at existing prices. If Congress retroactively rescinds the excise tax, buyers could pay less than last week and rebates would apply.
