Dr Wayne Branom announces Hillside Schools begin Thursday September 7 with the regular opening for all pupils. New students registering August 30 between 9 00 and 12 00 noon receive schedules and guidance. Ninth grade and transfer students also register.

Couple Killed In Auto Crash At Union NJ

A Hillside couple died in a Sunday auto crash with Public Service Electric and Gas. Nicholas San Filippo Sr. 47 and Beatrice Pagano San Filippo 48 died at Memorial General Hospital Union after their car skidded on rain slick pavement. Their two year old son Richard had facial injuries and possible internal injuries. he was listed in fair condition. Funeral arrangements are by Growney Funeral Home. A High Requiem Mass was held at the Church of Christ the King.

Dies In Car Crash At Liberty Avenue Intersection

Miss Englert aged 18 of 318 Foxwood Road Tinion was killed instantly about 2:07 a.m. Monday when her small convertible rammed two poles, hedges, and a rock on Liberty Ave near Fitzpatrick Street after losing control at a turn. Patrolman Rob ert Oram said she was driving south at high speed and was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Stanley P.F. Smith. The body was taken to the Mc Cracken Funeral Home.
