The Hillside Township Committee approved a five to ten year street repair program funded by about 390,000 in 1971 and a potential one million dollar bond. Prioritized streets include Vine Cedar Race Dodd and Woodruff Avenue due to prior base work and heavy usage. State funds totaling about 66,000 have assisted repairs on Central Hillside Salem Westminster and others. residents face assessments of roughly 450 to 800 dollars over five years, with possible ten year payment spreads.
