The North Wee Kashic Park Development milestone marks 440 Elizabeth Avenue as the final building of stage one. Arthur H. Padula is the official developer with Alvin E. Gershen as housing consultant. The Hillside Jewish Center owns the $4.5 million building financed by New Jersey Housing Finance Agency bonds. Rabbi Eli Carlebach leads the center in the initiative.

Hess Attendant Robbed at 1484 N Broad Street Station
William Orpin, 21st Street resident and Hess Service Station attendant, was robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday by two men who entered the Hess station. They forced him to surrender money, emptied his pockets, cut telephone wires, and took station keys after one suspect produced a shotgun assembled on site.
