Weekend thefts and break ins reported across multiple locations
A Hillside representative reported a $350 calculating machine stolen from Coco Steel Co. during the weekend. Erika Weltman reported $350 cash and a bank book stolen from a bedroom drawer between April 8 and Thursday. A man in Newark reported a $105 theft from a Sunoco Station bag. Jarnnuzzi reported a $175 tackle box stolen from his car. Several homes were entered and ransacked with no items necessarily missing. Fire crews responded to multiple brush and incinerator fires and two injuries were treated at hospitals.
