Clues Improve Hunt For Banker's Slaying In South Carolina
In Grosse Hill South Carolina on September 30 state and county officers pursued leads in the barefoot slaying of 71 year old W C Rasor and the assault on his son Jake Rasor. A Green ville newspaper advertisement showing Rasor’s plan to invest 20000 in cotton mill stocks provided a possible motive. Investigators cited objects in the Rasor home including a single barrel shotgun used by the intruder and two unfired shells as key clues. Fingerprints were taken from house items by State Constable J W Richardson appointed by Governor Blackwood.

Adoption of New Matrimonial Canon Major Work of Episcopal Convention
Denver, Sept. 30. The fiftieth triennial convention of the Protestant Episcopal church adopted a new matrimonial canon as a major achievement. The liberal measure allows divorced and remarried individuals to hold church communion status and be admitted to baptisms and confirmations with ecclesiastical approval. Premarital instruction is required and bishops may void civilly dissolved marriages. Annulment rules hinge on nine preexisting impediments, with adultery cited as a dissolution basis. Prohibition and unemployment issues were not decisively acted upon.
