Charlie W. Cook 57 a retired road machinery operator died Sunday in Raeford of a heart attack. Survivors include wife Hazel Campbell Cook son Jarvis Cook of Randleman sister Maggie Parris of Franklinville and brothers Ernest T. and Joseph E. Cook both of Carthage. Funeral 3 p.m. Wednesday at Yates-Thagard Baptist Church.

Don Forney to Speak at Chamber Coffee Club
Don Forney executive director of the High Point Model Cities Commission will speak to the September session of the Chamber of Commerce Coffee Club. The program titled Model City and the Chamber of Commerce will begin at 10 45 a m at the Chamber of Commerce building on North Main Street.
