Stealing Time in the Office and Its Consequences
A discussion of office grafters who steal their own time by looking busy while not fully working. The boss detects true busyness by end of day, and the greater theft lies in employees wasting time that could be spent learning the business and improving efficiency for long term gains. Frequent references to workers, bosses, and daily newspaper reports underscore the theme.
Why Employees Seek Better Jobs and Opportunity
The piece argues that capable workers attract offers from other firms because they value time and continually seek to do better. If not valued where they are, they will move to places where appreciation and prospects exist, since industrious people are rare and tend to stand out in large institutions.
