No Sponsors In Sight High Pointers May Vote On Liquor
The article discusses High Point voters possibly facing a third or fourth referendum on ABC liquor stores after November 6. Since 1955 referendums have occurred every three years, with votes in 1955 1965 and 1968 driven by citizens groups or Jaycees. No active coalition is pressing a fourth referendum, and the City Council would need 15 percent of registered voters on petitions to schedule an election.
