Ruling On Red Persuasion For Prisoners In DMZ
A five nation repatriation commission prepared to rule on whether a prisoner who fought for Communists but chose to defect can be forced to attend Red persuasion sessions. The decision affects about 23 000 anti Reds in the Korean DMZ as explanations begin for 14 700 Chinese and 7 900 North Koreans and 23 Americans 1 Briton and 335 South Koreans. The commission approved 66 of 68 Chinese requests to return to Communism, while two cases remain uncertain requiring re application. An Indian major was briefly seized by anti Red Chinese during a switch over incited by ongoing tensions.

Monroe congressman starts fund for moms of POWs
Rep Otto E Passman of Louisiana launched a $1000 fund to send parents of POWs who want to stay with the Communists to Korea to talk to their sons.
