Extension Of Credit Corporation Is Sought

The War Food Administration announced an emergency milk subsidy program to avert a drop in fluid milk production this winter. The Commodity Credit Corporation will pay dairymen 25 to 50 cents per 100 pounds of milk sold from October to December, with total cost about 65 million dollars. Payments depend on added feed costs since September 1942 and milk price changes, with minimum 20 cents per hundredweight and maximum 50 cents, or 3 to 6 cents per pound of butterfat if butterfat is delivered.

Army Policy on War Discussion Stays Practiced

Brig General F H Osborn states the army will encourage discussion between officers and men on war progress but avoid political or controversial topics. The stance contrasts with Britain's method of biweekly current affairs booklets used for forums.
