He said he would vote for Roosevelt and denied any plans for a New Deal speech or a permanent War Secretary post, noting his contract with New York runs to December 31 1937 with renewal options.
United States Commissioner Needham C. Turnage ordered authorities to hold three Washington youths for grand jury action on abducting a 12 year old girl. The defendants named were Woodrow Eason and Roupert Kirk formerly of North Carolina and Julian Shang a former Maryland resident. Bond was set at 1000 dollars for Shang and Eason and 500 dollars for Kirk.
