Historian questions past hunger while Rome claims food abundance
Rome, Sept. 23. An Italian investigator argues that modern people are better fed than in the past. He cites medieval excesses and lean years, noting the XVII century as Europe’s food golden age with new imports. He mentions coffee in Rome and the first cafe Greco. Two French Tunisian workers unearthed a Tanis temple amid ground surveys risking real estate sales of 240 acres at $200,000 unless halted.
