Air Service Petition Is Under Fire From Airport Authority
The Greensboro High Point Airport Authority contends Winston-Salem petitions seeking a stay of the CAB order and a reconsideration are flawed. It argues the Friendship Airport will be renamed Greensboro High Point Winston-Salem Airport and improve service with jet facilities, denying revenue loss fears. Winston-Salem says consolidation would kill Smith-Reynolds Field, but the authority notes only a small portion of transferred flights involve Eastern and Capital.
