Senate approves strict auto pollution bill with enforcement teeth
Washington AP reports the Senate 73 to 0 passes a health driven pollution bill setting five year deadlines for air standards and penalties up to two years in jail and 50000 dollars fine. The auto clause requires mass production of cars emitting 90 percent less pollutants by January 1 1975 with possible production line closures for noncompliance.
