North Carolina State College expands humanities role
The English Department at North Carolina State College, housed in Pullen Hall, develops North Carolina culture and literature programs despite lacking a liberal arts college. Led by Prof. Roger P. Marshall and Prof. Richard Walser, the department offers American English and World literature, public and business writing, and a growing elective course on regional literature. Faculty publish, lecture, and plan projects on North Carolina imprint history, theater, and southern writers, with support from Dr. Lodwick Hartley.
