State-Wide Eight Month School Term Would Save Much
North Carolina officials advocate a state supervised eight month term to cut public school costs by at least 2 million dollars annually and reduce property taxes in many counties. The plan would abolish 1080 special tax districts and fund the term from a 20 cent county tax plus state revenue, keeping six months funded and delivering broader eight month schooling.
