Guilford county farm demonstration agent calls a meeting tomorrow afternoon at the Greensboro chamber of commerce office to inspire increased wheat acreage. Speakers include Shube Coltrane and G A Grimsley with Kerr Scott and J E Latham assisting to form a Wheat Club among Pig and Corn club boys. Farmers are urged to bring seed samples and list those with good seed for sale.

Lumberton Boys Leave for Camp Jackson Without Tears
Lumberton on September 21 reports 27 of Robeson’s drafted men left for Camp Jackson with smiles and singing. Twenty-two more departed yesterday and additional calls are expected as the roll showed all summoned men present and in good spirits.

Woman forfeited bond by absence in municipal court
Pauline Evans, a young white woman, failed to appear for a drunk and disorderly charge. Judge J Allen Austin ordered the $45 cash bond forfeited after she registered from Greensboro area then caused disturbance at a hotel before being escorted to the station. Other cases include Mrs Hardie over night auto, Trexler paying costs, Martin and Woodruff and Phillips receipts, and Southern Railway case continued to September 29.
