Khrushchev In New York
Khrushchev travels from the Presi dence guest house to Union Station for a 8 21 a m departure aboard a 15 car train. He hints at a Washington speech may reveal a surprise move, seeks nuclear and rocket dialogue, and promises to present something in Washington. He faces probing questions yet keeps a relaxed, negotiator stance during meetings with Senate Foreign Relations Committee members and press groups. The talks yield cautious optimism on disarmament and war avoidance. Nine lines of dialogue note varied reactions from senators and party leaders.
