Postal Employee Shot To Death In Clover
An inquest was called in the death of Lindsay L. McElwee 31 a Clover post office clerk found fatally shot in the Clover post office late yesterday. McElwee was found unconscious on the floor with a pistol beside him by attorney Frank Thornton and the Rev W Patterson who heard the shot and rushed inside. He died on the way to Gastonia hospital.

ASHEVILLE Sept. 17. Waldo Scroggs of Cherokee county had to pay a portion of 165.60 for kidnaping his wife. He stood trial with Holland West Torrance Logan and Ezra Price on kidnaping charges and pleaded guilty to forcible trespass. costs totaled 165.60. The four were charged with abducting Mrs. Scroggs from her father's home but she said she went willingly.
