Davidson County Beer-Wine Election Petitions Near Submittal
Petition drives in Davidson County aim to trigger a beer and wine election. The Rev. Ray Swink says petitions are being turned in with a target to file by Thursday, pending 3,788 valid signatures from 15 percent of gubernatorial voters in 1952. A prior effort failed due to filing errors. If approved, the election likely won’t occur before January or February because of a county bond issue election set for Oct. 18.
