Mrs A L Ellison of this city reports the death of her brother J O Horney of Coats Kansas. He died Saturday at age eighty one and was the only surviving brother of Mrs Ellison. He had visited here and will be remembered by several local people. In addition to his immediate family in Kansas, several nieces and nephews of this city survive.
In Portland and Augusta, Republican nominee Alf M Landon urged a great victory in Maine's pivotal election while Governor Louis J Brann spoke on a statewide radio network. Brann implied he might back Brann over White if Landon wins fairly, framing the national debate around New Deal policy and administration. Maine voters go to the polls Monday to choose U S senator governor and several local offices.
