Relatively Few Men Are Dodging Draft
A 1950 Associated Press survey finds most American men fulfill draft duties, with notable delinquencies confined to big cities like New York and Chicago. Delinquents fall into two types: those missing exams due to address or vacation issues and those who fail to appear after qualification, with penalties and FBI involvement for the latter. The piece also notes regional variances and explains why some moves away disrupt posturing about dodging.
