Watertown Massachusetts school commission suspended 00 high school pupils for striking over a new extra hour in the daily schedule. After conferring with the high school principal the commission ordered reinstatement only with parents’ letters guaranteeing obedience. Demonstrations and class refusals continued today.
New York news notes 25 year old Tillie Daniels who runs a rooming house in the west sixties will go to court Tuesday to defend a $114 back pay suit brought by George Thomas, then testify against Morris Grain in a $280 bail bond dispute, and face a grand larceny trial if Aloyo Volker can be found. Volker also alleges Tillie obtained $2,000 for a half interest in the same rooming house.
Raleigh Sept 123 P Carey K Durfey was removed as executor and trustee of the Tucker estate after testimony that he admitted misappropriation of estate funds. Durfey of the Durfey and Marr firm, insolvent and in receivership, was not present. an audit of the estate valued at 329643 dollars is underway.
Hot Springs Arkansas September 12 State democratic convention endorses Senator Joe F Robinson unanimously for the 1932 Democratic presidential nomination Representative Claude A Fuller placed his name before the convention reminding he has long stood with Arkansas delegates cheered as the endorsement was announced Robinson’s appeal to national politics highlighted by Fuller’s pledge that he belongs to the nation as well.
