AAA Rating Easier For Bond Issuance Says AP Report
Municipal bonds can often attain Triple A ratings automatically through insured issues. San Diego County's South Bay Irrigation District recently issued 22.5 million dollars in water revenue bonds with a 5.6778 percent rate, aided by insurance guaranteeing principal and interest payments. Since 1974 over two billion dollars of insured bonds have sold, with Aetna, St Paul, Aetna Insurance, and U S Fire Insurance backing the coverage.
