Advisory board of the FT and Community Nursery met this morning at the Emma Blair nursery to discuss a method for providing food, outlining a plan to address feeding needs and community nourishment.
The advisory board proposed supplying one meal daily to nursery school children with nine cents per day per child as an estimate. With 30 pupils, monthly lunches would cost $54. The board, drawn from city civic groups, aims to raise funds soon and will meet again to complete plans. Members include Co. E. Diffendal, Rev. Tom A. Sykes, A. H. Holton, Clara Parker, L. G. Robichaux, W. L. York, Dr. W. K. McCain, Rev. H. Norwood Bowne, Dr. Marvin Slate, Dr. G. G. Perry, and Miss Thelma Patrick.
Vital statistics show 72 births and 30 deaths in August. Among births 59 were white and 13 Negro including three still births. Deaths totaled 20 white and 10 Negro with heart disease the leading cause and eight deaths from heart trouble.

In the North Carolina State Championship introductory skeet event three Winston-Salem marksmen led early scores. Tom Ruffin topped the trio with 95 targets, followed by Joe Rice 93 and W. E. Gladstone 92 as about 83 contestants completed their quotas by 1:30 PM.

G H Hardister of High Point pleaded guilty in Guilford superior court to forging L C Elliott's name on a $25 check and cashing it with Jake Harris. He was fined $50 and costs by Judge W C Harris. Later, Mrs L L Davis of High Point faced immoral vagrancy charges as civil court adjourned for the term.
At the Sheraton hotel the Rotary club discussed the Robinson-Patman Act during todays meeting. The act aims to curb discriminatory trade practices harming merchants and may require interpretation as its provisions are new and not fully understood. A picnic for Harry Williamson is planned at 7:30 next Thursday evening.
