Negro Alleged Taxi Thief Captured in Chatham Va
Clifford Martin a 17 year old Negro of 800 Cross street was captured in Chatham Virginia after stealing Ernest Gripper’s taxi on Fairview street about a week ago. He was held on a $1000 bond. He had bought gasoline at a Danville station and drove off without paying leading to pursuit by Danville and Chatham officers. He is docketed as 17 but claims 16 and will be returned to Virginia courts if innocent of charges here.
