Samuel Anoints David King As Saul Departs
Samuel mourns Saul and is sent to Bethlehem to anoint David as future king. David, youngest son of Jesse, is chosen after tests among brothers, with the Spirit of the Lord resting on him from that day. Saul, troubled by evil moods, later makes David his armor bearer. Bethlehem, meaning house of bread, ties to the Messiah prophecy. (Distributed by King Features Syndicate, Inc.)
