Burglar Strikes Lane Robbins Store Near High Point

Lane Robbins reports a burglary at his Freeman's mill road store about three and a half miles from High Point. About $40 in currency was taken from a cigar box after a rear window was broken. Police vow to watch for suspects amid ongoing liquor-traffic activity in the area.

Woodmen of the World entertain guests in High Point

The High Point Woodmen of the World camp No. 738 hosted over 100 friends. G F Wise and Rev J H Bennett spoke on woodcraft with Councilor Commander R E Heffner of Elwood camp. Springfield band played as the camp grows and plans a name change to the Woodmen band.

The High Point Elks held their annual picnic yesterday evening from 4 to 8 at O A Kirkman farm. A large crowd attended and enjoyed themselves, with the event described as a yearly effort only the Best People on Earth can pull off.

Lewis Woodson Improves After Stroke at Farm Return

Lewis Woodson suffered a slight stroke Thursday night while returning from his farm. He was found unconscious near the John Henderson farm and taken to his room at the Elwood. By today he is much improved though not fully strong, with doctors expecting a further day of rest and quiet.

Delegates to the National Woman's Suffrage association in Atlantic City feel encouraged by President Wilson's address. They interpret his vow to "fight with somebody" as joining their cause and anticipate completing their work tonight. The convention will consider the committee on resolutions as a key item.

Hughes Makes Final Maine Campaign Push

President Wilson Praised by Crowd in Atlantic City

President Wilson spoke to the National Woman's Suffrage association in Atlantic City last night then left by car this morning for Long Branch to stay at Shadow Lawn. A large cheering crowd on the boardwalk and nearby streets saw the President depart. Delegates to the suffrage convention joined the crowd.
