Murder charges filed against North Carolina policeman
Carthage police officer John Chambers, 21, was charged with murder after the shooting death of Gerald Rosser, 29, at Rosser's restaurant. A coroner's jury inquest prompted the charges as Chambers, on the force five weeks, ordered two youths to leave the area and allegedly fired after a scuffle over his nightstick. Chambers is jailed on $15,000 bond.
