Mrs Southern Succumbs In High Point Hospital
Mrs Maggie Lovings Southern died at High Point Memorial Hospital at 4 30 this morning after a year of declining health and six days of hospitalization. She lived with her daughter at 404 Prospect Street and was born in Stokes County to Newton and Fannie Rice Lovings. Surviving are four daughters, one son, four sisters, two brothers, ten grandchildren, and a great grandchild. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Funeral arrangements incomplete.

Prison Guard Falls To Death At North Carolina Facility
RALEIGH Rupert Warren a 41 year old Central Prison guard died after falling from the top of the west wall while talking to a colleague. His body struck an electrical wire before reaching the ground. Warren had served with the prison department for about a year after three years with the Clinton Police Department.
