Ducks Will Be Plentiful And Hunters Fewer

In northern woodlands wild ducks show strong prospects for heavy migration to warmer regions this winter. The Izaak Walton League estimates well over 100 million birds, about 30 million more than last season and three times 1935, will move south. About 500,000 hunters use government guns, with roughly 350,000 duck hunters, while wartime limits and shortages cut trips to marshes. Last year 1.4 million duck stamps were issued. 1942 total may drop to around 1 million.
