Guilford official urges stops for Florida-bound travelers
Lan Donnell of Oak Ridge, Guilford County commissioner, told the Greensboro Daily News that North Carolina must persuade travelers heading to Florida to stay. He advocates a regional effort by Winston-Salem, High Point, and Greensboro chambers to promote Piedmont opportunities and compete with Florida.

Evangelist George T. Stephens and family left for Montreat North Carolina where he will speak at the Montreat Bible conference. He will then lead a five weeks tabernacle campaign in High Point beginning Sunday September 13. Gibson Named Cubs Leader With Brilliant NL Record
Chicago Sept. 4 George Gibson new pilot of the Chicago Nationals brings a record as one of the most brilliant catchers in the National League and three years experience as leader of the Pirates.
