States to Use Goods Flow Survey for Industrial Growth
Raleigh reports plans to apply the North Carolina goods flow survey to spur industry. Statistician Park Mathewson will tour Burlington, Greensboro, Winston Salem, Marion, Asheville, Hendersonville, Shelby, Rutherfordton, Gastonia, Charlotte, Concord, Albemarle and Sanford meeting chamber secretaries. The study, by the U S Bureau of Foreign and Domestic Commerce and state department, maps markets for state produced goods and how raw and processed materials feed manufacturers. It aims to identify new profitable industry lines and finish stages for materials already partly processed.
