High Point mill case ends with $300 judgment for Belle Andrews
Judge Lewis EB Teague signed a compromise judgment in High Point municipal court awarding Belle Andrews $300 in full settlement of a suit for $26,000 against Robbins Knitting Mills. She claimed discharge on September 11, 1936 after being accused of stealing hose and says the accusation harmed her employability. The filing also notes attachments covering $5,000 against Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey and in favor of the High Point Agricultural Fair Association, with posters allegedly used by the circus before the fair ended. Bond filed by an insurer in Greensboro last night. No complaint yet filed but one expected within 20 days.

Health Officer Aims to Exclude Unvaccinated School Children
GOLDSBORO Oct 30 Dr S B McPheeters Wayne county health superintendent said he would seek immediate steps to exclude from schools all children who have not been vaccinated for smallpox. He would first ask the state board of health to test the legality of the rule before the state supreme court and, if needed, take the matter to the prosecuting attorney.
