SAN FRANCISCO AP Dead sea lions washing up on California beaches contained the highest concentrations of DDT ever recorded in sea life, scientists say. They suspect other factors caused the deaths, with 60 deaths in six weeks and most victims resembling teens. Mercury also found but not enough to cause illness. infectious causes remain possible. There was a prior epizootic in 1947 and indications of another a decade later.
