Thomasville widow Susie Wilson dies after long illness
Mrs Susie Myers Wilson 73 widow of Ralph H Wilson of 14 East Colonial Drive died Monday at Community General Hospital where she had been patient since October 2 She was born May 22 1902 in Thomasville and lived there all her life A longtime teacher and active in Memorial United Methodist Church and various clubs she is survived by a daughter Alice Lambeth Dixon and two grandchildren Funeral Wednesday at Memorial United Methodist Church with entombment in Myers Mausoleum Thomasville City Cemetery The family will receive visitors this evening at the funeral home Memorials directed to the church.

John Murray 40 of 702 Rockspring Road died at 2:30 a.m. after a heart attack. Born April 1, 1935 in Knoxville, he owned Town House Restaurant since 1955. He married Louise Layton in 1958 and is survived by wife, two daughters Linda Carpenter and Donna Murray, son Danny Murray, father Franklin Murray, brother Alvin Murray, and other relatives. Funeral Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Cumby Chestnut Drive Chapel with burial at Gilmore Memorial Park Cemetery in Julian.

Autopsy ordered for Sally Paul Langley 60 after a blaze at 1102 Campbell St in High Point. Police say the front of the house was fully involved when first responders arrived just before 1 am. Langley’s body was found on a rear bed with blood in the hair. cause of death undetermined. Clarence Langley, 58, husband, was found in the front yard. Fire Chief H L Thompson notes she wore sleeping attire.

Thomasville police seek ICPA affiliation after unanimous vote
In Thomasville the 24 member police association voted unanimously to affiliate with the International Conference of Police Associations. They also gave unanimous support to Lee Honeycutt, dismissed Friday by Police Chief Paul Shore, who said the officer violated the department code of conduct. Honeycutt plans to appeal to the City Council with attorney Willis Cooper. Shore denied links to Honeycutt’s association activity. Robert Gordon of ICPA called the affiliation routine.
