Comiskey, White Sox Owner, Dies at 73 in Wisconsin Camp
Charles A. Comiskey, 73, owner of the Chicago White Sox, died early today at his Woodland Camp in Eagle River, Wisconsin, after months of declining health. He sank after a brief rally when the club won the city series against the Cubs. His son Louis, treasurer of the White Sox, was with him. He died in his sleep from heart and kidney complications. The Old Roman helped shape professional baseball and will be buried in Chicago. He had taken refuge in a forest tract, his home set amid wilderness and a historic camp of Sox rooters nearby.
