Fire destroys residence on South Main Street in High Point
At 2 o'clock this morning the two story frame home at 1225 South Main Street burned. Mrs. Mary Frazier woke the occupants in time for all to escape in few clothes with only scant furnishings saved. The house, owned by Rufus Brown, was destroyed and protected neighboring properties. Four rental families lived there, including Mrs. Frazier and her young son. The fire started near a stove and quickly engulfed the one story area before spreading. The home stood near High Point Builders Supply plant.
