Man Killed In Drunken Row Near Wilkesboro
North Wilkesboro October 26 Lewis Shew died in a drunken quarrel on Hunting Creek near North Wilkesboro. Police found a pistol with four cartridges discharged on his brother Pate Shew and the shooter remains unknown.

Stolen Clock and Coat From Salisbury Doctor Recovered
In Salisbury on October 26 Dr. J. H. Rozzell reported a clock stolen from his office in the Wallace building. On investigation the thief returned and stole the doctor’s coat. Both items were later found at a pawn shop, but the suspect fled.
