War Labor Board Sets Up Plan To Handle 10000 Disputes A Week
The War Labor Board plans a regional system to review wage and salary changes for up to 10000 cases weekly by accepting statements at face value with penalties for falsehoods. The approach, tied to presidential orders, relies on clerical processing and later audit on disclosures. Officials anticipate expanding staff from 250 to about 2000 to regionalize decisions and minimize Washington referrals.
