Texas Aggies Rise as Surprise College Team of 1955
The Associated Press notes the Texas A&M Aggies, sophomore‑heavy and coming off a single win last season, defy expectations in the Southwest Conference. Coach Bryant’s squad faces a tough schedule, with talk of possible post season implications and Cotton Bowl hosting if they win the title despite sanctions. Other major conferences show Oklahoma and Yale pace, while Mississippi State and Georgia Tech contend for top spots.
