Eighty Eight Die As Blacked Out Ships Collide

Twenty Killed In Army Transport Crash At Fort Benning

Twenty officers and men died when an army transport plane crashed at Lawson field Fort Benning during a night parachute training flight. Jailer J R Jernigan and two white prisoners were injured as three Black inmates broke from Wake County jail on the fourth floor of the county courthouse in Raleigh.
