Western North Carolina Methodists hailed the saving of Lake Junaluska as the church summer assembly grounds when Dr. W A Lambeth presented the deed to Bishop Paul B Kern. Lambeth paid off the indebtedness with a $100000 check to a St Louis backed mortgage, as the deed was recorded in Haywood county. The trustees will hold the property until the 1938 general conference when a permanent commission may be created. Prepared ministerial candidates were welcomed into full connection after the opening session.
