Raleigh AP report quotes Superior Court Judge Hamilton Hobgood disputing defense attorney Jerry Paul’s claim that Miss Joan Little’s acquittal cost $325,000. Hobgood says the outcome reflected the facts and legal process, noting money cannot guarantee justice, while acknowledging wealthy defendants may access better legal services. Several peers declined comment on the controversial assertions.

State Leading Nation Out Of Recession

CHAPEL HILL AP Gov Jim Holshouser says North Carolina is leading the nation out of the recession. The 1975 budget anticipated about 9 percent growth.
